My son gave his teacher who also a hunter a copy of a picture. To my surprise the teacher hung the picture up in the classroom. The teacher has a billboard of student achievements. Talk about a pretty cool teacher.
We invited the in-laws over for dinner last night for deer steaks. My wife told me they wanted to try deer. Being non-hunters and having that it taste to gamey attitude I fixed a couple sirloins for them. They both took a bite or two of deer and the sirloins never got touched. It meant alot to my son that his grandparents shared in his harvest. After my father in-laws 4th or 5th medalion I grinned and said not to bad is it. Anyway we are invited to shoot a few deer off of his place if he gets to eat like that again.
Very nice. Looks like perfect shot placement too. You taught him well. Did you have him field-dress it himself? And hual it up in the back of the pickup? That's when you know they've grown up about all the way.

Nothing better. I had my six year old and his best friend in the blind this year when we took a nice 8. They were making a racket and I was second guessing taking them when HE stepped out. He's not the biggest I've taken but he's at the taxidermist. Our children will always be our best hunting buddies. I can't wait to see him take one for himself just like your son. Congrats!!!
