I took my new Kel-Tec CP33 to the range today. I only tried two types of ammo in it, CCI AR Tactical and CCI Standard Velocity. The pistol functioned flawlessly for me. I only shot 5 magazines worth of ammo today. I had absolutely no failures at all. I decided to sight the Swampfox Kingslayer in at 25 yards. It is a fun gun to shoot and what's not to like about having 33 rounds per magazine.

25 yard target shooting fairly rapid. Don't mind the holes towards the bottom of the target since they are from sighting in the red dot.

It's surprisingly accurate considering the manufacturer, but I guess using a polymer frame allowed Kel Tec to put more money into making a very good barrel.

My Sub2K and CP33 are both pretty darn accurate. My KSG is pretty good too.

Relative to pistol accuracy it is not so expensive for a large manufacturer mass produce decent barrels. Needs a workable crown. More important is how the barrel is mounted in the frame/receiver. Arms with recoiling barrels are harder to make shoot accurately than a blow back weapon with a fixed barrel. In a handgun, trigger quality and sights can be very important.

The CP33 has a pretty good trigger. I also shot my S&W 22A yesterday to compare the two. The trigger on the CP33 was slightly better than the 22A. Accuracy was very similar between the two. I know the 22A was S&W's budget target pistol but is quite accurate too.

I own a Kel-Tec P3AT and PF which have horribly long trigger pulls. I also have a PMR30 and CMR30. The CMR trigger is similar to the CP33. Overall I am very happy and impressed with the CP33. I started out with the Swampfox Kingslayer on the S&W 22A and decided to put it on the CP33.

The PF9 and P3AT are budget conceal carry pistols, the CP33 is a mid range .22 target/competition pistol. Not the best comparison, but it does show that Kel Tec can make a gun with a decent trigger. I know I was surprised when I dry fired a KSG in a store.

The trigger on my CP33 was very comparable to the S&W 22A trigger. I need to shoot the CP33 and my Ruger MkII to compare.

Just got back to the range today. And NO the trigger on the CP33 isn't even close to the trigger on the Ruger MkII. I wasn't expecting to be either. I would have to say the CP33 is more accurate than the Ruger Mk II Standard tapered barrel. I was only shooting at 25 yards today with my CP33, Mk II, 1911 W/GSG conversion slide, Glock G44, and Taurus 942 revolver. Of course with my eye sight, the CP33 did have an edge since it is the only one with a micro red dot on it. I put 6 magazines through the CP 33 today without a hiccup. All together I have about 400-500 rounds through the CP33 without any issues and am really loving the red dot on it.

I put a few clay birds out at 50 yards too. It was boringly easy to hit them at 50 with the CP33 and red dot. I also shot the G44 and MkII at the clay birds at 50 yards with good results. Overall a fun day at the range.
