I just got back fro the range with my keltec .380 and it ran flawlessly with all 200 rounds through it,only choked on the hydrashock hp's but it ran on the FMJ ammo fine. It only had one stopage that i believe was due to my limp wristing the gun (I found out quick i needed to hang to this little gun) I also got a couple of casings in the forehead ouch! :D all in all I really like this gun alot,I may get another one hope this helps anyone whos considering one of these as I was a week ago I'am glad I decided to get one it will make a fine ccw weapon or bug.

Also do you think I should put more rounds through it before carrying it? I was impressed with this little gun's reliability out of the box but what do you guys think? Well I'am off to clean this little gem laters.

I wouldn't trust it yet. :uhoh:

Lightly polish the feed ramp. the hump in the middle of the ramp can slow down the feeding of HP's, keep it there but just shine the ramp up a bit.

KT will send you different size ejectors for the forehead pelting problem.

Put another 250 rounds through it and see how it goes. Mine has been flawless. Bren

Thanks for your reply bren and your suggestion as well will put another 250 rounds through her and see if she keeps up the good work :D BTW howmany rounds did you put through your keltec .380 before you trusted it for CCW,what do you feel is a good number? thanks

About 500 rounds with any pistol. Find a crary load you like and get used to the little bugger.

I just wanted to say on a side note....I've only put 12 rounds so far through my Autauga. The manual recommends 100 rounds for breakin. I cleaned and lubed it afterwards. It's been in my pocket since, I see no reason not to trust it.

Best of luck with your Keltec. The round is nice for the size, but I just have ill will towards plastic guns and the mag release of the Keltec also was one of the things that turned me off.

Check out some of that Spanish surplus FMJ. It's supposed to be fairly hot. It should give you good penetration out of the KelTec. I would use it for carry ammo if it proved reliable in a gun of mine.

I'm carrying fmj in mine for penetration, so after 150 rounds it was good to go.
Over 300 rounds now, and no problems except the cases to the head.

My sons chipped in and bought me one for Christmas. I've only run 50 or so rounds through it, but I can DEFINITELY report the cases-to-the-head syndrome! I'll check out the replacement ejectors.

It's accurate and fun, and so far - except for not liking HydraShocks either - reliable.

It REALLY mangles brass, including a very Glock-like bottom of the case bulge that destroyed some reloaded brass I experimented with.

Bought the belt clip for $12.00 at the Goodmans gun show Saturday. Also noticed that mags were a little spendy @ $25.00. There's a plus-1 extension available for $12.50.

All in all, I really love this little gun!

If you want to run it with hollowpoints i suggest finding other hollowpoint designs that will feed properly in your gun. I think with such a short barrel it would be a moot point though. The only bullets you're likely to get expansion out of in such a short barrel are the hot ones like the corbon 380 or the Ranger Talon. Those might be a bit hot for the kel tec to handle though. You might end up getting the slide launching into your forehead instead of just a few shells.

Thanks guys I think iam gonna stick to ball ammo for pentration reasons more than anything else. I to love this little gun I plan on getting a plus one extention for it. I also plan on buying a hard chrome one when they come out to these things are great. I won't usually use a .380 as my primary gun but his thing is tempting especialy durring the summer here in Florida in a few months, besides most of us will never need our guns anyways, you put that together with the fact the mere presentation of a weapon by the inteneded victim ends a confilict and P3AT looks even better.

Now I know theres those that will say if you ever need to use your gun a .380 won't get the job done I beg to differ if you do your part a gun will do its part. that being said I think 7 rounds of .380 hardball in a perps face should stop whatever he is doing
:D

I was shooting at a range in Melbourne, FL a few weeks back and two guys next to me were shooting P3ATs. They were getting hit in the face regularly with ejected brass. They had been up to Kel-Tec in Cocoa Beach, FL once to try to get the problem fixed. Both were unhappy and were going to return the guns and continue carrying their Kel-Tec .32 cals. If it were me I would try some more with the P3AT ejector changes because I believe the .380 is much better than the .32.

Good to hear some more feedback ..... my parkerized one is due in next month sometime (I hope) ........ and will certainly be doing ''the usual'' things to it ... as well as giving it good initial excercize.:)
