I was about to buy a Blur a while back.

Then shaved the skin off my thumb pushing on the thumb stud to open it at the store.

I suppose it's just a matter of getting used to pushing at the right angle.
But I hadn't found the right angle at the store yet.

My Leek has them too.
But I have no idea why?

It won't even open all the way if you use them.

I gave mine away. I just couldn't warm up to it enough to carry it. Snapping it open with the flipper was moderately amusing for a bit, but eventually got old. We had guests over for shashlik, and I gave it to one of them. I warned him about the thumb studs.

You're definitely doing it wrong.

It's worth noting that the Blur's studs are a little different, and I can definitely see some scraping if you managed to run your thumb across it the wrong way. It also doesn't have the handy protrusion on the back that allows you to push with your finger rather than flick with your thumb.

That's an awesome price on that Thermite.
