Kimber is now showing the KDS9C, a 15 shooter somewhat 1911ish. Looks a lot like a Wilson EDC9X.

And is that a square Lego 2x2 block as a rear sight? Geez. Might as well engrave “racking zone” on the slide and “looking doohickey” on the rear sight. Wouldn’t be less visually appalling.
Click on the link in the OP. Dimensions are published on the manufacturers website. Can anyone tell from the published information if it's a standard 1911 sized or EMP4 sized? It looks kind of small-ish in the photos.
Where's the 10mm variant?
So you believe this model possibly has a military application?Taking a back seat to the most popular and - for most people and armies - practically effective pistol round ever made.
You can never have too many 10mm threads on THR.Not enough 10mm threads on the forum?
But it’s an attractive double stack-ish 1911 pistol. I’m just wondering what other possible chamberings Kimber might offer it in. .45acp maybe?
Wow Im shocked Kimber is actually giving 2 mags for this 1500 dollar gun.Pet peave of mine about Kimbers only one mag and extras are 40-60 bucks depending.
No. The 9mm does, both in civilian and military as said above. The 10mm will always take a back seat, regardless of the application. So, be patient. So you believe this model possibly has a military application?
Interesting, because one cartridge that would fit 9mm-COAL mags and the 9mm’s feed-cycle is the .40S&W.10mm? Not likely.
I expect to find it is like the EDC, CS, MBX, Platypus, and 2311 which retain 1911 lockwork but have moved away from the .45 length magazines and action stroke of the 2011s to dedicated 9mm proportions.
LolThat pistol is going to sell, provided it runs.
I've shot a couple of EDC9s, and they are very nice pistols. But, IMO, they are worth about 1/2 of what Wilson charges for them.
Might just have to give one of these Kimbers a try.
I can't decide if this is more DWX than 2011, or more Wilson EDC X9. More options are always good, though I'll be passing.
