I own one (the Kimber - it's the earlier model, not the II) and have shot SA TRPs before, and find/found them both to be great handguns.
On one hand SA's lifetime warrantee would edge out Kimber. On the other hand, I value fit, finish, and feel over warrantees and would try to handle and/or shoot one of each and go with which feels best to you.

Cheers,

Actual differences?
(I really need to read a little more carefully) ;)

-SA has a lifetime warrantee
-SA has Larry Davidson grips
-Kimber has rosewood grips
-Kimber has their cool ambi safety design
-Both are "custom shop" offereings
-Both, as far as I know, contain some MIM parts

Yes they do which is why I passed on a real nice tight TRP here. Just my preference. I firgured I could go a bit more and get something without MIM as long as I was spending that kind of money.

That said, the TRP is a real nice gun and reportedly very accurate. My Springfield loaded is very accurate and has benn 100% dependable and will probably last forever, MIM and all.

I have a nice Springfield and two nice Kimbers and am in the market for a higher end gun.

Go for either gun and you will be happy I believe. I give the edge to the TRP. A slight edge.

As per AlaDan just posted. The 20 LPI is a bit rough compared to the 30 on the Kimber. Nice with gloves.
