Took my new (to me) Series I Pro Carry HD to the range for the first time today. I arrived unpacked my bag, loaded up a magazine, set the target out 50 ft and fired away. Took a look and didn't see any holes in the target. ***!? Brought the target back and all five shots were in the black center ring! Due to my bad vision I didn't see the holes. This never happened to me before, even at 30 feet with any other handgun. Yet, I did it with the first five shots out of the Kimber. I looked at the target for so long the range officer came over the PA and asked if everything was OK. The rest of the session with the Kimber went just as well. What a great feeling.

(for Handy)

Definitely sounds like you got a keeper!!! :D

Good shooting, too!

I hope mine does as well.

I bought a used Pro Carry HD in .38 Super that I have yet to pick up. I am hoping that it is the answer to my dreams of an all-steel, rust-resistant, more compact/concealable, yet higher-capacity (WITHOUT being a double-stack) handgun with a 1911 trigger.

In theory, it IS the answer.

We'll see how it is in practice.

Hey Steelharp, how did you let this thing go? IMHO it's almost the perfect handgun. I say almost because of my deep affection for my BHP and G33.

Gerard, it just wan't right for me; neither was my Commander. I just do better with a full size. The weight of that all stainless gun was a bit much for me, as well.

I'm glad it's found a good home; I'll expect royalty payments forthcoming... :D

Mikey D...

Funny how a gun works, or doesn't work, for someone. The extra weight is important to me due to shoulder problems and I'm more accurate with a commander length gun. For guns, like music and cars, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
