I just had an opportunity to shoot the new Kimber Solo a couple of hours ago. I must say I am quite impressed. It has a very nice trigger and the recoil is remarkably mild for such a small piece. Accuracy too is surprising for such a small pistol.

As soon as they can be had for anything even remotely approaching MSRP, I'll be buying one.

The only one I've seen in person so far was at the last tampa gun show, it was the only one the dealer had. They wanted some craziness over $1k for it...

Kimber Solo 9

The one I shot today had been sent back due to misfires. Kimber replaced both slide and barrel and returned it quickly. Per the owner not a single hiccup since. The other two that the dealer has sold have had no problems reported but he's pretty sure that is what is holding up supply- they know of the problem and plan on getting it corrected before sending out too many. Good sales pitch anyway-but I was quite impressed. I shot it side by side with my Colt Pocket Nine which has a long hard trigger pull. The trigger pull on the Kimber I would guess at 5 lbs but feels perfect for the gun. The Kimber is lighter and smaller than the pocket 9 but the recoil feels much less.

If you want a real interesting experience with low recoil is a pocket rocket you have go to shoot a PM 9 or CM 9. Kimber is a day late and a Dollar short in the pocket rocket race as far as I am concerned.

By they way, does the Solo come with a years supply of shipping return labels to Yonkers New York and a 600 round break in period. I just could not resist that:evil:

I'm sure it's a really nice pistol, when it works. My opinion is what w2fnt said, they were late in the race, so they rushed them out, without fixing all the bugs. When they do, and they start filing orders again, they'll probably be awesome little guns. Overpriced, but awesome nonetheless.
I held one a few months ago, and it felt great, btw. I hope I get to really play with one soon.
