Don't know if you're still looking for info on this. I really can't add much, anyway. One came on a used Remington 700 in .270 I bought recently. I'm very new to scopes, but it seemed to work fine the one time I had it out. I noticed that at 100 yds, I had to dial it up to almost 200 to get good focus, but that might be my eyes. 4 clicks on the adjustment screws moved it about 1 inch. I was able to get about 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards without too much difficulty, but I have a lot to learn about center-fire rifles in general.
OTOH, I wouldn't buy a yellow dog at Walmart...
