On my Mosseberg 500 it definitely reduced the felt recoil, for example it doesn't hurt my shoulder nearly as much when I'm shooting 3" loads but that comes at the cost that it beats your face up. All in all I would pass on it if I was doing it all over.
If your gun fits properly, you do not get cheek slap
If your head isn't on the stock, it is hard to be successful hitting targets, you'll tend to shoot high
I went on their website and looked at the instruction PDF. Looks like your head has to be about 2 inches behind that "bell" on the stock. Then according to them you don't get cheek slap.
It works if you move your head back from the receiver, but that feels unnatural to me.
The gun actually moves backward into the stock when fired. You get cheek slap if you put your face where most shooters would naturally for bead or iron sights. Also adds some weight to the gun. I sold mine.
I dont like that there are two motions. there is a spring motion directly back into the stock but there is a slide between the reciever and the knoxx. that part by the trigger moving just messes with me.
I feel less recoil with my no frills non-moving stock. "not for me"
I have used the system on a 870, using slugs and 00 buck. I haven't had any issues. The stock asorbs the recoil "greatly". The prior shotgun I used was Ithica 37, which kicked rather hard with slugs. For me the stock recoil fit and handled smoothly. I have shot several hundred rounds of slugs and buck shot thru the 870 and like it.
