Kramer Handgun Leather Holsters

Like 'em? Hate 'em?

I'm looking for an IWB holster for my M&P .40c. The Kramer #3 looks very appealing. Anyone that uses Kramer or has any thoughts. I prefer leather. I have looked at the Comp-Tac Ghurka also (kydex). And, yes, I've been recommended VMII but I need something sooner than 6 months.

I have and use (I'm wearing it now) a Kramer Leather horse hide IWB for my M43. I would buy from them again and will when I change to a different carry gun...Give them a call to make sure you are ordering the right one for your use. They are very helpful. At least the lady that I talked to was.

Entirely satisfactory - I have a pair IWB and OWB for a 3" 657 in horsehide that are just fine.

Not my choice for metaphysical World's Finest but Kramer is entirely satisfactory.

Given just the right style to suit a Kramer might well be as good as it gets for a given person.

Not as pretty as some, but they get the job done just fine. I would purchase another if I needed one.

Kramer's IWB rig is every bit as good as Milt Sparks' Summer Special, with less wait. Make sure you get the draw angle you want, though; the #3 is a more radical draw angle than I care for. Kramer makes IWB rigs with draw angles from straight vertical, which I think is the #1 or #0, through the #3 to the really radical Duane Thomas rig.

I have the straight vertical IWB rig, which works fairly well much of the time, but I want to add the one with the slight tilt when I can afford it; the belt loops on some of my pants do not allow me to use the "sweet spot" for straight vertical draw.

Generally, the farther to the rear the rig is worn, the greater the tilt needed for a smooth draw.

Woody at Bullseye Percision loaned me his Kramer #3 for a 1911 after hearing me complain about not being able to find a good holster. After a week I was hooked, the prices are reasonable, their comfortable, durable, and it was shipped within the week.

Kramer makes superb equipment. The holsters are built like tanks, and the molding is precise and tight, resulting in a perfect fit once it is broken in.

The only issue that you need to consider is whether the styles that Kramer offers will serve your needs; they don't offer some of the kinds of holsters that seem to be very popular with people, most notably a dual-offset-loop IWB holster. Why this is, I don't know - it seems to me that they would siphon off a big portion of the business from other makers if they expanded their line a bit. A Kramer-quality IWB of the Milt Sparks VMII style would be a sure-fire success, I think, given Kramer's reliable 4-6 week wait. Nobody else I know of offers such an appealing combination of quality and short delivery time.

I have a Kramer Horsehide Scabbard and Belt for my TRP Operator (the old one that has the full length dust cover) and I can wear that gun for eight hours without a problem. I can even conceal it under a polo shirt with no trouble at all. I have had the holster for a little over a year and even though it has a few dings it is still as good as the day I recieved it. When we get lawful carry up here I won't hesitate to use this rig.

I absolutely LOVE my Kramer Leather holster. I've carried in the "Inside the Waistband Sheepskin Clip" holster for 3 years, and can't ever imagine carrying in any other holster. The comfort level is inscrediable to the point that I often forget I'm carrying a firearm. You can't go wrong with a Kramer.

Thanks for the replies... I'm still waiting for my IWB#3 for a .40 compact M&P. It should be here soon (I hope)!

I think next I want to try an OWB scabbard.
