Just an availability FYI.

These chronos have been in relatively high demand and production hasn't kept pace -- I know because I've been watching and waiting.

Brownells shows them in stock right now, discounted a bit below the last price I saw, with an additional $25-off on all orders over $250.

I've ordered mine.

Hoping competition makes them both a little more affordable. I've almost pulled the trigger, no pun intended, a few times on the Labradar. Most of the time it just wasn't in stock. Now that they are, and at a lower price I am pausing again waiting to see if the Garmin is a better tool. I'll be too old to play this game by the time I make my mind up :)

Good for you. The LabRadar is the cat's meow, but too rich for my blood at the moment. For now I'm still using my old Shooting Chrony. It works well when it works, but can be persnickety. I'll upgrade one of these days. It's on my list of things to do. It's a ponderous list.

Never owned anything from Garmin, but after researching them, they don't drop their prices very often.

I was in the market for a Labradar but heard about the Garmin Xero C1. Bought the latter and couldn't be happier. Just used it in an indoor range to chrono CCI 40gr SV LR rounds out of a S&W 617.

Quality products and great support. I own a satellite gps tracker and collar setup by them and it has functioned flawlessly.

If you want a Lab Radar or any other chronograph, start checking the other shooting forums because after the Garmin came out people have been selling those to buy Garmin's.

The Lab Radar unit seems nice considering I have only seen one at the range last year. It was brand new and the owner was playing with it in order to get familiar with how to operate it. I was testing some 1937 vintage Kynoch 7x57 ammunition in a 1908 Brazilian Mauser and the Lab Radar owner offered to chronograph a few of my rounds to help him in set-up and operation. At first, I thought it might be a pain to get set up but it was only the new owner not knowing how to do it yet. Once he got that figured out I got a few rounds chrono'd in the 2700 FPS range, which is roughly what I figured they would be doing. Forgot the exact velocity, but that's my fault for not writing it down. My Shooting Chrony is still working OK so I'm not in the market for a new unit yet, and I don't even know the price range of any of Lab Radar's competition.
