While expensive, the LabRadar Doppler based chronograph has a lot of appeal to me as it would work with all of my firearms and at my range.

But...it's been promised for over a year now and and I don't know anyone who has seen or used one.

So...if anyone has seen and/or used one, what did you think and is it worth waiting for?

Read some reviews back around April, seems they might have some issues picking up shots (not that other chronographs don't). They introduced it well over a year after they intended to and still have some issues, I think I'll hold out a little longer need hope they can get them a bit better or the cost down some before I buy one.

Yes, I think I read that .224 FMJ rounds were giving erratic readings. Part of that was due to the small size of the bullet and another part was due to the fact that the FMJ bullets have multiple depth surfaces on their backsides, i.e. the flat lead center is recessed from the rolled over jacket. So the radar couldn't get a consistent reading from the base of the bullet. Regular jacketed bullets of the same diameter didn't have that inconsistency.

You can read through this thread to get the full skinny on that issue:

The first post on page 1 details the inconsistency.

"Reply 28" on page 2 of the thread explains the problem resolution.

They sold out their first batch.
The distance it can "see" a bullet is determined by the size of the bullet. This isn't a problem a normal chronograph distances.
