I took two 10mm handguns, a Kimber Camp Guard and a S&W M&P10mm, and seven different 10mm factory loads to the range today and compared them on a chronograph. The Blazer actually did better than I expected. The Sig V-crown 180 grain and the Underwood loads did well too.
As I am researching to buy a new chronograph, I see most of them have +/- 0.5% or +/- 0.25% accuracy. This means for a 3000FPS projectile. The measurement error could be +/- 15 FPS (For 1000 FPS rounds, the error is +/- 5FPS). I also see quite a few online videos showing their range testing...
So I've been loading my own 9mm (and other calibers) for about 4 years now and never was able to get them through a chronograph.
Until today.
I load my all my 9mm with 124gr berrys bullets with 5gr of power pistol.
Shot them through my g17 today through my brother in law's chronograph.
They...
When I play with different loads in my muzzle loaders I run them through my Caldwell chronograph.
Since I mostly do my test shot in my workshop, and I am too cheap to spring for a chronograph that comes equipped for night indoor use, I needed to figure out how to use it indoors. My solution is...
I'm working on my first 38 special handloads and have some questions that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.
I've been reloading for about 5 years now and i finally got a chronograph last week to start recording velocities of my handloads and I noticed something unusual when metering...
Recently purchased my first chronograph and am interested in comments/suggestions on how to use it most effectively.
Up to now, I have used tables in reloading manuals, tables downloaded from bullet or powder manufacturer's websites as my guide when developing charges in the different...
I just picked up a new to me ProChrono Digital on eBay. $60 OTD. Works perfectly.
My question is should I sell it for what I’ve got in it and buy the new model ProChrono DLX with built-in Bluetooth, or... should I just buy the add-on Digital Link Bluetooth adapter.
Money works this way:
Used...
Measuring velocity with an optical chronograph has become more of a challenge now that the days have become very short and my shooting club is located in a narrow tree lined ravine, making it fairly dark most of the day. And there is the setup time and resulting inconvenience to fellow range...
I'm looking for recommendations for a reasonably accurate, reasonably priced chronograph. I've got a great handload for my .300WM (165 gr TSX over 72.8 gr IMR 4831) and now have a Leupold VX-6 scope on the rifle. I need to know my MV to order the CDS turret. I'm sure if I have one I'll use it...
I am relatively new to reloading, about 1 year now, and found little data for 45acp and Xtreme's 200gr flat point bullets. Also just acquired a LabRadar chronograph. Thought I would share the following data and would like to know if anyone else has an opinion on whether it seems reasonable...
I was recently given a V1 by a friend who picked up a V3. I picked up some batteries and when I turned it on tonight the language is in Spanish. How do I change it to English? I've checked the manual and their website but neither list anything about this. My friend is currently unavailable...
Hit 60+ outside today so had to hit the range. I have been reloading a bunch in the past few months, so wanted to chrono some of those loads. Also bought a new toy (SRH 44 + Leupold 2x) that I had to try out.
Im kind of a geek, I love the info from the chrono. Figuring Im not the only gun...
While expensive, the LabRadar Doppler based chronograph has a lot of appeal to me as it would work with all of my firearms and at my range.
But...it's been promised for over a year now and and I don't know anyone who has seen or used one.
So...if anyone has seen and/or used one, what did...
