I have a Caldwell Chronograph and love it for handgun rounds. I need to chrono rifle rounds and I really don't want to shoot it. So I am getting ready to buy another chronograph and looking really hard at the Magnetospeed. I have used one and really like it. I have read it doesn't change the groupings but it can change the impact point. I have also read dropping barrel mount from 1/8 to 1/4 the impact point will no longer change. I like the fact that one doesn't have to wait for a cold range, doesn't matter about the sun, and you can use it inside too. Now comes LabRadar...or does it. Website said will be ready to shipped 9/2014. Well guess what, it is 8/2015 and NO LABRADAR! Are they having problems? Why haven't they updated their web site? Where is it? I did see where they said the 1st shipment in Sep. 2015 are already sold and they won't be shipping any more until Oct. Just don't know what to do? I am thinking that they have big problems and I am also thinking when it does hit the market, there will be a lot more problems. Should I wait or just get the Magnetospeed? :banghead:

Thanks

There have been a few threads on this subject if you do a search. Do the Labradar folks have any contact info on their website? Maybe they can help you decide. Just be careful of phrases like "the check is in the mail". ;)

I have a Magnetospeed chronograph and have been pleased with it.

Plusses from my point of view. No sensors down range, No light issues over the sensors at least with jacketed bullets (I have not tried mine with cast bullets). Data easily transferred to a computer. Relatively small in size for carrying to the range.

Negatives. Does not work with most handguns. Care must be exercised to make sure the sensor bayonet is properly aligned. The sensor can be shot if not aligned. Sometimes adding or subtracting spacers to the bayonet mount as well as tightening down the bayonet mount can get a bit tedious at times.

For rifle, I feel it is the cat's meow. But, the Labradar "vapor ware" is difficult to compare to the Magnetospeed.

No contact from Labradar. Website not updated about shipping. Not looking good. I have read other threads but not getting updated information. Just wanted to try again. Mounting was not for me with Magnetospreed but maybe I got lucky. Like the idea of the Labrador, but I am thinking there must be major problems with something. Hopefully someone on this site will have a little more updated information than I can find. Thanks

One of the guys on a local (to Minnesota) gun forum just recieved one (LabRadar) as part of the second batch of units to be sent out. First batch I guess went to professional reviewers and the second batch went to the next people on the list.
