Six or eight months ago I purchased some Lake City once-fired brass. I am finally getting around to processing them.

Tonite I was trimming some of the pieces and noted that a couple of them were annealed. The head stamp on these two pieces said LC 07 LR while the rest said LC 07 with the NATO stamp.

Are these LC 07 LR brass cases the equivalent of the Lake City Match brass that is so hard to come by any more?

Just curious.

Jasper1573,

First, all your cases are annealed. Some of them may have been cleaned/polished to the point of no longer showing the annealing discoloration. The cases with "LR" are the current 7.62x51 sniper brass that was developed in 1997. Yes, the are the equivalent of the older M118 Match brass and just like the match brass, they have no primer crimp.
