Yeah, but if you plan on buying primers and powder at the same time prepare to be charged with two Haz-mat fees. They lost a sale from me due to this insane fleecing of their customers.

Its NOT fleecing. They drop ship powder, they dont keep it in the warehouse. They do keep primers. So they have to charge two seperate charges, as the packages are coing from two seperate places. Far from fleecing.

Call it what you want, its unfair IMO & I won't pay it. Just wanted to let the op know about the charges.

They are not keeping the money, so what is unfair about it? If you dont want to order fine, but calling them out as fleecing and having bad business practices is garbage. Dont pay it, I know I dont, but dont accuse them of being unethical.

Didn't know about the drop shipping. Handy to know so I won't be surprised by fees. Guess I'd better try to find powder in town before ordering. Now please, everyone take some deep cleansing breaths. :D

I usually just order from powder valley and make big orders. Thats who midway drop ships from anyway.

Yes, they most certainly CAN. I dont know where that myth got started but every shipment I have ever gotten was packaged in one box under one hazmat.
My last order from Natchez was certainly packed with primer and powder in one box with one Haz-Mat Fee.

Man I must be lucky! I used to live in the same town that powder valley is at and I still live fairly close and visit often, so no hazmat shipping there since I can pick up in store :) Unfortunately they are pretty much out of primers but a gun shop where I live now has small pistol, large pistol, small rifle, and large rifle all in stock (and decent prices!) :) I sure love having $0 in hazmat shipping fee's! But I also have to pay taxes at powder valley unlike the out of state orders. Sorry to rant, but I feel real lucky right about now

I just go to my LOCAL gunshop, who I have done business with for years, and buy any quantity of whatever I want. Ju st purchased 5M of primers. So it's a couple of bucks more, and that is ALL it is! Support the local guy! Especially when you can get whatever and any amount you want!

I'd love support the local guy, but reputable gunshops are hard to find in Afghanistan. The idea is to order and make sure it's at the house when I get back rather than HOPING the local guys have it. But, like I said: I'll have to crack the reloading manuals to decide on a load before I know what powder to look for. Then the local guys in Nebraska get first crack at my dollar.

On another note: Those large pistol primers are all gone. 2 days is longer than I thought they would last anyway.

Small primers have been available pretty steady for a while. Large primers are what's FLYING off the shelves lately.

JJohnson, I just tried to prove your point by checking their shipping. But at $11+HM for 1k, and $12.84+HM for 10k I couldn't. :(

I will add that every single time they had primers OR powder at a (only) decent price, it wasn't any better price overall than the top three places I like to order from.

I've spent thousands on Midway, but never for powder or primers.

Justin
