First off any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve done some research on what I believe to be a late 70’s Charter Arms .357 Bulldog with a six inch barrel. The handle has the Charter Arms with the USA above it. And it was made in Stratford, CT SN 475408. My questions are
1. Am I accurate on date range.
2. I’ve read that if it was made anywhere but Stratford or their original address in Bridgeport, then don’t touch em, but have also heard that some of them from Stratford could be a little iffy as well. Is this true?
3. What is a fair price, assuming it passes all the checks.
Thank you for any input ya’ll might have.

1. Close enough, the Stratford Charters are 70s and 80s guns.
2. From what I've seen, Stratford and Bridgeport are good guns, it's everything after Stratford that's questionable and anything Charco is garbage.
3. Going by gunbroker prices, most Charter's top out at $300 on the auctions, but given how prices are inflated right now, you could ask for more and see if you can get someone to agree. I wouldn't accept less than $300 tho.

Thank you sir for your reply, I couldn’t find the exact model on there so I was weary of offering a price without getting something similar but if that’s about the standard then that will do. I fear that the sentimental value of the gun will not allow me to buy it that cheap from the gal I’m talking with. Apparently according to her, her husband used it in the service prior to retiring. We shall see. Thanks again and god bless!

You do understand that if she sells it to a gun store that they will offer her half the value, maybe $200. $300 is very fair and in line with what others would be willing to pay. It's not in mint condition, so it's not going to appeal to collectors, and while the Stratford Charters are good guns, they're not Smiths, Rugers, or Colts, so the name value isn't there.
