Here's my vintage Charter Arms Bulldog .44.

Just got it back from the gunsmith because the cylinder to forcing cone gap was pretty tight, and the gun was binding up. Anyway, the gunsmith fixed it and liked the gun enough that he offered to purchase it from me. :D The gun is tight and appears to have been fired very little.

This gun is lighter than my new .44 Bulldog Pug (19 ounces vs 21 ounces), and the recoil is noticeably more "brisk". I purchased this gun with the Pachmayr Compac grips on it, but swapped on some correct wood grips for the pictures.

I've been after one of these older Bulldogs for quite some time, and am happy that I found one. BTW, this particular Bulldog dates to about the early to mid 80s and was made in Charter's Stratford, CT factory.

One of the only guns I like those Pachy Compacts on, The Other is a Colt Agent. The .44 will handle 240 grain bullets if you want, unlike the bigger S&W 296 . I carry one hiking in bear country when I want to go light.

Nice! I've been looking at a few Charter options for my next pistol, and the .44 Bulldog is on the list, along with the .38 southpaw and the 9mm revolver.

I know Charter had a bad dozen years or so, but the 80s vintage guns are nice and the new ones are pretty good. I'd probably buy new, used guns don't stay around long in my area.

I have one just like it with wood grips that I bought in 1980. I used to carry it often but replaced it with the Colt magnum carry 12 years ago. From time to time I like to carry it while riding my horse. Those big lead bullets gives me some comfort. A good gun for the money. John Taffin seem's to think so too.

Yours looks like the blue version of my old CA Bulldog. I did the same thing with the grips. My is super accurate. It shocked me it was so accurate. I carried it a lot.

Congrats on a very nice revolver.

Big fan of the old ones too.

I'd love to have a fixed sight version like yours but with a barrel shroud like mine, then a ramped front sight and.... Aw hell, they're Bulldogs, I like 'em all -- especially yours.
