I watch and enjoy Law & Order: SVU. The episode started one way, and transitioned into a different story. Nothing really to do with guns, except for what I thought were some good bits:

-When the cops are at the victims home, and lie to the husband saying they're investigating a rash of home invasions, he replies that he's got the best security system, Smith & Wesson. The cop then says "So you have a gun" and the husband answers "several, all properly registered of course." The cops get ready to leave and the one says "just be sure to keep it secure" and the husband replies "sure, because I'll go please mr badguy please let me go and get me gun."

Ok, so the next one isn't necessarily good, but when they get a court order on the dude who had been beating his wife, the DA asks for his guns to be collected, and the husband responds about his 2d Amendment right. And then after the charges had been dropped, the husband says to one cop "and be sure to have your partner drop off my guns."

Just found it interesting

SVU Episode Spoiler Alert in Thread

I hate to see violence but it was interesting that the husband used a knife, not an evil gun for his deed. Subliminal message was gun control won't stop a nut case. And the gun was used was used in a more positve self-defense sense.

The Law and Order series seems to have changing stances on a variety of issues. I'd imagine it's probably due to different writers, directors, producers, etc. Good to see there was a change for the better.

how pro gun is it exactly - if the "bad guy" is the one making all these statements?

exactly, I think their message is, look who can own guns even if registered.
