Took my new Ruger out for a spin today. I ran a box of gold dots and a box of fmj through it without a bobble, sort of. On the first few mags the slide wasn't locking back after the last round. After scratching my head for a few minutes I realized I was riding the slide lock with my grip. So I repositioned my grip a little, and then I was engaging the slide stop mid magazine. I just couldn't find a happy medium that was comfortable. I guess I will just live with the slide not locking back on the last round, unless you guys have some ideas on how I can remedy this problem.

Shoot southpaw? Kidding.

Interesting that you cant find a comfortable grip that works......have to go and study the gun to understand why....

Could just count rounds. on last shot in chamber...not pull trigger and eject mag and put new one in. No slide release needed and no slide closed on empty mag problem. Will speed up reloading and time. When done shooting, just, safely chamber check in case your counting is off.

It's funny you should say that. I'm actually a lefty, and started out shooting handguns lefty and rifles right handed. Not long after I got interested in handguns I made the switch to shooting right handed just because most guns are set up for right handed shooting, and it just feels more natural for some reason.

I've been considering that gun myself. Personally I don't think the slide lock is a big deal. Maybe I'm crazy but if it goes "CLICK" just swap mags.

I'm a lefty, and am interested in getting an LC9S Pro. Have you shot it left handed? Can you run a few rounds through left handed and see if you still have that issue?

Are you engaging the slide stop with your support hand thumb? Or are you shooting one handed? Looking at the gun, I'm trying to see how you are gripping it to engage the slide stop. There's not much to it, as the tab is pretty small.

I have not shot it left handed. My right thumb, with a thumbs forward grip, is what is coming in to contact with the slide stop.
