I'll make this short and sweet, I'm looking for a Single stack 9mm, and I'm just wondering if the early issues of the LC9s Pro have been sorted out. I like the size of it and really like the way it feels in my hand. Any info on the newer guns? Thanks Ladies and Gents!

When it comes to tiny handguns most people make mistake by picking up wrong ammo for them leading to disappointment. That is why I give you tiny 9x19 ammo advice. Pick standard velocity Remington HTR 115gr JHP.

Early issues, as in related to the mags? As far as I know, the Italian-made mags have never had any problems.

Have you shot it? I love my Pro.

I have read a few reviews and complaints about trouble with guide rod failure in the earlier guns.

I hadn't even heard of that issue. I found a couple of mentions of that online, but as far as I can tell, that cropped up in 2014 and was resolved by Ruger in late 2014, from what I can tell:

I'd say if you buy new you have nothing to worry about- that's one of the advantages of waiting to buy a new product (getting the manufacturing kinks worked out) :)

I bought one for my daughter and I liked it so much that I bought a second for myself just a couple of weeks ago. One issue I am still trying to resolve with mine is that it doesn't like hollow points. It jams up every 20 rounds or so. Doing so internet research shows that I am far from the only person with this issue.

I have not polished my feed ramp yet but understand that this is the fix that seems to work a lot of the time. I will report back after trying it but can't vouch for it yet. I am actually about to start my own thread on this.

That issue aside, it is a spectacular gun for the price point. The trigger is one of the best out of the box triggers I have ever seen. It is super light, super easy to conceal and weights about nothing.

When I got my Pro, I handloaded every variation there is in order to test for reliability. The only ones which did not function 100% were VERY low-velocity rounds of the lightest and heaviest bullets available. If one uses commercial ammo there should be NO problems. If anything, commercial stuff is somewhat "hot", compared to my everyday handloads, which goes to average to slightly slower (and always cycle).

Thanks for the reply!

I picked one up about 6 months ago to replace a Kahr K9.
I don't have many rounds through it but it does tolerate my USPSA/IDPA handloads, Federal 115 9BP and Gold Dot 124. I guess I'm lucky mine likes hollowpoints. At least those two anyway...

The one thing I still need to deal with is that the mag release requires a significant push. Very difficult for me to consistently operate with strong hand thumb. I've resorted to temporarily using weak hand thumb.

They had a early issue with inadvertent mag release and I think they overcorrected with their solution.
