Passed my LTC! Have decided when I'm not open carrying, I'll be staying an LCP. Fairly small fame so it was the only one I thought comfortable.

Debating between a cerakoted LCP vs LCP custom:

Shimmering gold cerakote lcp:

Advantages Cerakote:
Not worried about the rusting, I have super acidic sweat and I'm in Houston...
Low profile sights

Disadvantages:
Low profile non-changeable sights
Gawdy gold slide, would have preferred dark and non reflective
Gawdy pearl insert trigger

Ruger LCP custom:

Advantages Custom:
Real usable sights
Option to change to night sights

Disadvantages:
Might rust quickly in Houston as EDC
Cerakoting it us an extra $120+
High profile sights might snag

Well I have the custom. Of the issues you brought up I haven't had problems with the sights snagging using a pocket holster. As for night sights no one makes them yet for the custom. As for rusting I haven't carried it that much yet so I will wait and see. So far it is 100% reliable and it shoots to point of aim so I am very happy.

The custom sights allow me to shoot much better.

Another vote for the Custom. I sold my Gen 1 LCP to fund my purchase of a Custom and have been more than satisfied. The sights are fantastic. The gun shoots like a full sized pistol but pocket carries like a dream.

My only hangup is rust.. Houston in the summer is brutal
When I bought my custom it was only $10 more than the standard LCP. I guess you could see about getting you slide cerakoted later if you get rust issues. That little slide shouldn't cost too much to do.

So I went the Custom and Stainless routes.

I sold the Custom for fears of rusting too.

Ruger's stainless isn't the best form of stainless steal and can rust too-even says so on a card they put with the Stainless LCPs.

Whatever you do, know the barrel is always blued. Custom, cerakote, regular, or Stainless. I find the barrel hood finishes on the LCPs get beat up really quick.

Just something to think about?

I would go stainless.

Been lately experimenting with a LCP stainless I got for $161 at a pawn shop and THUNDERWEAR! Works very well as a backup/desperation gun. I call it my C#d piece.

I to fear high sights snagging so if a carry a .380 as a main weapon I use my Glock 42 (it shoots almost as accurate as my Glock 26) and rides very well in a iwb and loose fitting t-shirt.

But the LCP is quite accurate for 7 yard situations, even shooting one handed.
