I just bought a new Ruger LCR, and I am trying to remove the cylinder. I've gone through two T10 Torx screwdrivers trying to remove this right-hand thread screw--never gotten it to budge the slightest. In each case, the tips of the screwdriver tore off without loosening the screw. According to the Ruger diagrams, it's right hand threaded. However, I've gently tried both directions without luck.

Without debating the merits of removing the cylinder or the purpose for which I am trying to remove it for (convert it to moon clips via TK Custom), are there any brilliant ideas for how to get this screw out? Thanks--advice much appreciated!

Take a new Torx bit.
Put it in the screw and Whack it hard a few times with a hammer to jar the thread locker loose.

Then, chuck the bit in a drill press and use the quill to hold the bit down in the screw socket.
Then, turn the chuck by hand to loosen it.

If that don't work?

Send the whole gun to TK Custom and let them finger it out.
