Learned about Trijicon from their website, and posts by forum members:
Example:
SGO1 code (top of front sight) indicates that front sight is part of sight set compatible with certain Sig Sauer 9mm models #8 front/#8 rear.
08 code (top of front sight) indicates year of manufacture - 2008.
From the code and year make, you can determine compatibility with your pistol and relative age and brightness of the 'lamp'. There's a 12 year waranty (life). The website has a vid about how these are made (glass lamps filled with pressurized tritium gas, glow bright green or other available colors at night).
