What is the least expensive A2 style AR I can get? I am considering the Model1 Sales route with a cheap lower. I'd be looking at about $650 for a working rifle.

I just got a complete AR from the ARFCOM site during the cyber Monday sale. $650 complete and ready to go with 9" quad rail. Obviously that sale has come and gone, but there's a flood of AR stuff right now.

I know PSA has complete lowers for $149, so you should be able to build one (buy a complete upper and snap it together) in your price range.

Did you look at Armslist, or are you opposed to a possible used rifle?

I like what he said.
After the gun scare EVERYBODY bought ALL the AR15 parts available. It took awhile but they are slowly starting to leak back out into the market and for excellent prices. You can get a really good AR used online that was probably barely even shot or used. That is the place to check. They tend to be higher quality for lower prices. After the scare man places started producing the parts just because people bought everything and there was money in it. Don't be fooled grab a used one from the classifieds somewhere.

To my knowledge PSA does not offer any A2 style ARs, either uppers or complete rifles.

I prefer the A2 AR, and I like Doublestar Arms for the least expensive choice.

With the vast majority of AR shooters preferring the flattop M4 types, sometimes you can get good deals on A2 type ARs if you look around and have cash.

I hear a lot of guys are happy with their PSA rifles, also check out Spikes Tactical AR's.
Sites like AIM tactical will usually run them on sale. The only other option that has not already been mentioned would be to try and save a little more and get what you really want, just a thought.

Someone might freak out for mentioning it ... but my friend got a flat top Olympic Arms and has never had a problem with it. He got his for around $700 I believe. Olympic Arms is probably your best bet for the money. Your resale might be lower though if you ever sell it. Good luck.
