Lee 380 ACP dies... 3 or 4 die set?

I have Lee 4 die set for both .380 and 9 mm. I reload exclusively cast bullets, and have never needed the factory crimp die, all reloads fed reliably.

I have the Lee 4 die sets for several pistol calibers. I have found the post sizing feature of the FCD to be useful to fix the occasional finished round with a slight case bulge. I have used the sets to load fmj (9mm, 45 auto), plated (380 auto) and swaged lead (38 SPL) and have liked having the 4th die to have the option of being able to crimp separately. Just my 2 cents.

Get what ever set you want. But I would not recommend using the LFCD. You need to learn how to setup your dies properly so you don't need to use it to fix a problem. I've been hand loading for over 4 decades and still don't own one. I can see where they can be useful on rifle rounds but not pistol ammo.
