ok I buy the Lee 7/8 oz. slug, I have several pounds of HS-6
so I go to Hodgon site and try to compare info that came with slug to Hodgon site. now please look at Hodgon site.
first you get to shotshell loads, select gauge, select shot or slug, I pick Lee Precision 7/8 ounce slug. then pick HS-6,
and pick Winchester AA hulls, well my Lee Precision turns into a Slugmaster! on the instrutions that came with slumaster or whatever it is says use a WAA12 wad and max load of 38 grains of hs-6, and at Hodgon site it has
7/8 oz. Slugmaster HS-6 Win. 209 1-.135" Card + 1-1 1/2" Felt + .135" CA 47gr. 10,300 PSI 1500
which seems like a total pain in the a$$ to load, also in instructions it says to use FILLER wads or FILLER something
to bring slug 7/16 from crimp. this is from Lee info.
and also Lee throws in a 2.2 powder scoop which measures out to 31.5 grains far from 47 grains at Hodgon site. so I make 50 nice slugs, and decide to use boxed info and powder scoop, and a WAA12 wad, also I have to put 2 .125
20 ga. cards into wad to bring height of slug to crimp distance. I make 5 shells and go fire them. a bang NO recoil
and slug goes whining like a rickochet out of barrel. 870 police barrel no choke. I'm really confused by this time. all
loads suck! BUT 47 grains seems like alot of powder! anyone have similar problems? I know you just dont make these slugs and throw them into WAA12 wad and fire away.
anyone have any experience with these slugs? any nfo to share?
