Lee Classic Turret questions

It's interesting that the priming arm has been a problem for some people. On my Classic Cast I've had no issues but I've only loaded 7 or 800 rounds. I hope the Classic Turret doesn't have a reason why this issue is more prevalent. Fortunately it looks like the tie works but if I have the problem I'm going to figure out how to make it work properly. Things like that will continue to bother me so whatever it takes it will work right like it does on my single stage.
I just got off of the phone with a Lee technician about the Primer Feed Arm falling out. He advised me to make sure the slot on the ram has no nicks or burrs, and if it has burrs to smooth them out with a file or emory paper.

The Primer Arms that came with my press have what looks like a very small bump on the inside of the end of the hook. He says that should not be there either. This could be why my primer arms are not sliding down over the rod as they are supposed to.

I am going to fix this since I like the press otherwise, but what does this say about Quality Control??

From what I have been hearing, the demand for their products have gone sky-high thanks to CEO Obama And Company... Im sure they are trying to make this stuff as fast as they can to meet the orders.. At least their customer service is top notch and you get a real human being on the phone. I can overlook a minor problem like an out of spec primer arm because Im sure they are making them as fast as they can...

Just finished setting my turret press up. It works perfectly. I do have to use 1 RCBS die as my Lee dies are 3 die sets, fortunately I had to get duplicate die sets from RCBS for the Dillon as the Lee's were too short on that press.

Only issue is the washer from the Safety Prime bracket not allowing the nuts from the dies to go by if a corner is on the outside of the turret. I ground that metal washer down though and everything clears now. I'm surprised I haven't see problem mentioned before. Even the Lee die nuts could be a problem unless you didn't care how perfect everything was set.

First box of moderate .44 magnum loads took 20 minutes. Build quality and the design are excellent. I'm sure I can load 30.06 with this press. Overall I'm very pleased with this press. Lee hit a home run with this press. They also did with the Classic Cast.

I got the Lee Classic Turret kit from Kepf gun shop back in October. It's a great little press! The only issue I've had was related to the primer arm also. It would "hang" slightly as the arm was rotating under the case. I simply smoothed the inside of the ram and the the arm itself slightly and have had no issues since. I've produced about 900 rounds of 45ACP on it so far.

If you are going to reload mostly pistol and small rifle shells like .223, the Pro-1000 will suffice. If you want to reload longer shells like 30-06 and 8mm mauser, you need the classic cast turret press. It is a bit taller. The auto-index feature wont work with the long calibers though, you have remove the indexing rod and turn the turret by hand.
My classic turret will autoindex .30/06 but .375 Weatherby requires manual turret advance. This is not a problem since I can't stand to shoot the Weatherby in any volume.

question, just ordered the classic turret and a whole bunch of turrets and accessories....

but why will it not auto index a larger caliber?

That's a darn good question maksim.... I use the Classic myself, but only for pistol calibers.

the only thing I can think of is the auto-index limits the ram stroke just enough to make the longer rifle rounds not fit? But I'm just making a WAG.

Anythiny larger than 30-06 will not be out of the die when the turret starts to index.
