I need more help guys,I just purchased a Lee 4 hole Turret press,It's working fine, only I do not like the way it drops spent primers, they fall outa the ram all over the place. Is there something I'm missing or is that the way it is.

What press is it--Classic Turret or the older Turret Press?

If it's the Classic Turret all you do is hook up the clear plastic tubing to the nipple on the bottom of the ram and direct the spent primers into a waste can or bag.

I have the newer classic turret (cast base) and they drop down the center of the ram.

I'm not sure how the aluminum base press does it.

Does your press have a hole going all the way though the ram? I can't imagine you have to take the primer arm off.

call Lee. You'll talk to a real person. They'll answer your question.

You have the older press and that's the way it is. You'll likely have to rig some contraption to handle the problem or return the press to the dealer and buy the Lee Classic Turret.

There are several reasons people recommend the Lee Classic Turret press over it's older aluminum brother. Spent primer handling is one of them.

Your press is the older style which drops spent primers into the base, not thorugh the ram. The only thing I can tell you about keeping them somewhat organized is to take a piece of cardboard about an inch high and place it between the inside of the posts on the right side of the press. The primers that would go over the edge will hit it and bounce back into the base.

You need to keep the priming arm in so that any that go out that direction hit it and deflect into the base. It's not a reliable as the Classic Turret as to primer disposal but I had one for around 12 years and even though I upgraded to the Classic Turret, it still works fine.

Well here is what i have come up with,1st take the index bar so the turret will not move,De-prime all the brass, clean the primer pocket, and than replace the the index bar and go like hell or leave the bar out and turn the turret by hand.

"I just put a kitchen trash can under it. Some still fly away"
Zippy, I've been doing the same thing for 20 yrs. Easy to find and sweep up most that get away. Hell I've found it's a good way to keep my wife "the organizer" away from my reloading bench. Told her they would explode if stepped on:D
