I use a Lee Safety Prime on my Lee turret press and the problem was the primer dispenser head would not reliably swing back away from the ram after depositing a primer.

Solution: Loop a rubber band around the right hand pivot trunion on the Safety Prime and anchor the other end of the band to the right rear support post of the press with a twist tie. Problem solved!

Good idea.

I did not have that problem, but I had a problem getting the primers to drop into the cup reliably. I originally had the safety prime on my Challenger press, and it worked well there, but did not work very well on the Classic Turret. I ended up adding a couple of washers under the mounting bracket on top of the press, which raised the whole safety prime up slightly. It engaged the ram properly and everything worked fine then. I later saw a video where a guy had to lower his instead of raising it. So, for anyone having a problem dropping the primers into the cup, check the height of the assembly.

I have a couple of the primer arms from a couple of Lee Presses. One of the arms had burrs which caused the arm to stick in the ram. All I did was rub it on the concrete floor, both sides and voila! no more sticking. Kinda of like a poor mans knife sharpener but in this case deburrer!!!

A sharpening stone would have worked too, hehe.

I noticed mine would hang up on the arm after depositing the primer. I then realized it didn't matter because dropping the ram wasn't effected.

I never have that problem with the older "lollipop" looking safety primers but the new safety primers are junk. LEE needs to go back to the old style

I have one that I don't use anymore, but before it would work I had to use a small file and razor knife to deburr it. Then it went together and worked as it should.

Two or three drops of super glue on the 2 piece white plastic primer trough improved things somewhat.

When the plastic 'tab' wouldn't push mine back, I put a piece of small diameter fuel line on it, been working for two years.

If the "tab" doesn't have enough force to push it back you can bend it.

It is made of Nylon not plastic. Take it off and heat it in boiling hot water to soften it. Then push in the direction you want, it will cool and hold the new "set"

The little "cat whisker" return tab on the mount for a Lee turret press is too much like a cat whisker to really be effective. A more robust tab would be in improvement.

How funny. I had that problem too. 1 washer added to the stack fixed mine.
