I recently acquired a Lefever double barrel 12 gauge shotgun. I assume it's 12 gauge since a 12 gauge shell fits, but it doesn’t specify the ammo anywhere I can find. I'm sorry but I don't have any pictures yet.

On the top of the barrels on the left it says "Lefever Arms Co Ithaca NY" on the right barrel is stamped "Nitro Special". The breech is chrome or nickel plated. The only decoration I can find looks like a duck in flight engraved on the right side of the breech. The serial I located on the water table is 101878 although the "0" kind of looks like a "U". Also on the opposite side of the water table where I understood the grade to be I found a "12".

Any info you can come up with would be appreciated.

1922, second year of production. 2 3/4" chambers, will use modern ammo. Actually an Ithaca, a simplified and earlier version of the NID. Good, strong utilitarian boxlock. Mine is regulated amazingly well.

Original finish on the receiver was CCH.

Choke constrictions on underside of the barrels.

4=full
2=mod
1=IC
