Left Hand Safety on an 870

I bought a Fortmanns left hand safety for my Remington 870, when I installed it, it seems like the Safety Mechanism Detent Ball is to tight on the Safety Mechanism. The saftey will not work, What can I do to fix this?

Assuming you installed this in an Express gun that had the Remington locking safety, you should also install a Wingmaster model spring and detent ball.
