Legality of delayed transaction

Aloha from Hawaii! (working on a cruise ship) Quick question-
is it legal for me to have a firearm sent from an individual to my ffl and held by the ffl for several months? I'd do the background check when I return

Any thoughts?

Shouldnt be a problem. Guys in Iraq buy stuff and leave at their FFL all the time. Just make sure its ok with your FFL.
