Let all of you learn from this. A friend just called and said another friend just shot someone that pulled a knife on him. He didn't have any other details at the moment but he was looking for the number of our resident shooting club training guy to see if he knew what to do. I didn't have his number handy but I did have an attorney's name and number in my phone that yet another friend had given to me. I have never spoken to this attorney but I have it on good word that he is available and specializes in this type of thing.
Please, please, please, get the phone number of a pro-gun attorney near you and put it in your phone or keep a business card on you if you are carrying. Also, don't say anything other than identify yourself and where your gun is until you speak to an attorney. Do what he/she says to do. Nothing else. Even if you are in the right.
As it turns out, our friend didn't shoot anyone after all but did have to pull his gun on the creep. Not sure if they caught him or not but the friend called the cops and they are talking to him now. I'll post any updates when I get them.
