I NEVER forget these things:
9-11-01 is at least as grave an attack on The USA as was 12-7-41
Freedom is not free, and the cost of liberty is quite dear.
Both of my grandfathers were WW1 "Doughboys", mom's dad was badly burned in a Chemical Attack somewhere in France (Probably Mustard Gas). He passed on to his reward in the early 50's. Doctors said his lungs were weak from Mustard Gas, and a later bout with TB.
My dad was a WW2 Army infantryman, served some in European Theatre, but mostly in Pacific, including the Admiralty (sp?) and Fiji Islands, Silver Star recipient. Oldest brother has his Star, other brother has records, I have his VA provided casket flag, stored in a glass-front triangluar walnut frame, atop my gun cabinet, so that I don't forget the cost of liberty
Oldest brother is Viet Nam Air Force vet, called up right after the French bailed out.
Nephew is currently a US Marine, last I heard, somewhere in Okinawa. He saw for himself how The Frogs have dishonored the Normandie Memorial.
How many times have you seen a US Marine cry, except for the loss of fellow Marines?
p.s. I have seen a few of the memorials, etc, and every time I see one, makes my blood boil over, wanting to somehow extract a "pound of flesh" from those responsible parties for everyone we have lost since 9-11-01
