I’ve come to a point where I want a bipod on every rifle that needs one.
This year I began purchasing quite a few bipods.

On all my rimfire rifles I decided to stick with the Harris S-BRM with the addition of a pod lock to lock the swivel. These are the notched leg 6”-9”.

On my precision rifles I was moving around a pair of Accu Shot BT10-LW17-V8 bipods.
My issues with the Accu Shot bipods is that they move around quite a bit because you cannot completely lock out the panning.

A couple of weeks ago I bought an Accu-Tac SR-5-G2 with ARCA mount for my 6.5 Creedmoor mounted in an MDT LSS-XL.
The features that impressed me were the ability to extend the legs without needing 2 hands.
Retracting the legs is also a one handed operation.
Push on the release lever and the legs spring back closed.

I was so impressed with the quality that I ordered 2 Accu-Tac BR-4 G2 with Picatinny mounts.
I also bought some spiked feet and the additional claws that attach to them.

6-9 inch Harris bipod was the answer to my recent research with notched legs. The swivel or tilt feature is a no, and not needed for most of us. Reading posts on bipod discussions was very helpful.
On a 6.5 Creedmoor at 300y a 2 degree cant will place the bullet 8.6” off of your point of aim.

I've switched from Harris 6-9 notched to Magpul Atlas wannabe clones. If cant is a concern, and it is in the field, I use an anti cant level on my one precision rifle.

As for my other rifles, which are all AR's of some type, I use another Magpul using a quick release. It's there for zeroing and load development and that is it. In the field I'd rather use a branch limb, stumps, sides of the trees, boulders, a pack even, to get a stable shot.

The more I use a bipod the more like like my Atlas PRS. I really like the ability to fold the legs both direction and to use them at +/- 45 from the vertical when shooting. I have the extension and extra feet but don't use them very often. The spiked feet do come in handy every once in a great while.

The Atlas on my Ruger 10/22, the bipod is worth as much as the rifle in this case.

That said the only time I use a bipod is at the range or shooting PRS/NRL22 matches. I have never really successfully used a bipod hunting due to never have long shot were I could go prone or over a rest and still have LOS to the target. For hunting I have been loving my Trigger Sticks. I have the long tripod version and for stalking they have been great.

I have a Harris 6-9" with the swivel (tilt) and smooth legs. It has worked great in steep mountains from prone positions.
I have been contemplating what to use when prone positions are not possible -- I'm anticipating a pronghorn hunt in 2023. I've considered a tripod or shooting sticks, but right now I'm favoring the idea of a Harris S25C bipod (13.5-27"). I think it will work for sitting or kneeling. I do have a Manfrotto tripod with a Y-attachment as an alternative, but I'm thinking the tall, attached bipod might be the way to go.

I have a knack for forgetting bipods and magazines which is why every rifle will have a bipod.

Ya, my collection of rifles is small enough I can fit all my mags and the bipod in the range back with all the other stuff, so I don't have to worry about forgetting it since they pretty much live in there.

9-13 tension screw harris, Atlas, and a pile of cheap harris knockoffs are my range pods.
My hunting bi-pod/tripod are Spartans, and my favorites to date. If ive got one of my adapter fitted rifles out for distance shooting or plinking, i still normally use the Jav even tho the Atlas is easier to adjust and more rigid.

Another Harris owner here. I have two R55 Benchmarks, and they each have a Harris with an adapter plate for a flat fore-end.

I use a GG&G I've had for a while on my Ruger Precision Rifle and never really loved it. I've also had an old 9-13 Harris forever (think I paid less than what knockoffs go for now) and have a bunch of cheap 6-9 knockoffs they all work OK. I've been wanting to upgrade for a while and after a bunch of research I ordered 2 Magpuls one M-loc and one Picatinny and an Atlas BT10. I've already sold the GG&G and am thinking real hard about getting an Atlas CAL for the RPR and moving the BT10 to my 6 Creed AR.
A career involving air hose couplers and the atlas legs are a one handed operation lol.

I like the Israeli-made Command Arms bipods. Reasonably priced and high quality.

I've always disliked the external springs on Harris bipods.

Just out of curiosity why spend extra on a swivel Harris to spend even more to lock the swivel out?

Have you compared the Atlas CAL to the Accu-Tac, I'm struggling with spending 200 on a bipod the Accu-Tac is north of 300
That’s the first time I see that one.
I would have no issues with that bipod since my major gripe with it was the inability to lock out the pan.
It still requires 2 hands to extend or collapse the legs but that’s a minor annoyance.

As far as spending a lot of money on something.
Most gun related items I’ve purchased have continued to increase in price.
If it’s a quality item you will always be able to get back most if not all of your money back over the long run.

I use my index finger and thumb to pull the ring down and hold the leg between the rest of my fingers and the palm of my hand.
Got Optics Planets 10% off for Veterans day code and ordered a CAL lol.
