Here is the link to the Washington Post article, there are also several others out there.

Basically, Dicks decided to pull their modern sport rifles (such as the Remington R-15) from the shelves in all of their stores for a "period of mourning" after the Sandy Hook incident. They also removed all guns from the shelves in the store closest to the school. They have not said how long they will continue not selling them.
Here's the deal: can they as the store, do what they want? absolutely. But we consumers can too. Basically, they said they understand that some people are ignorant about guns and gun rights, and in order to appease them, they are making a gesture of "good will" and stopping the sale of certian rifles. While they are within their rights to do so, they have insulted not only gun owners and potential customers; but have said they think the 2A may not be so important after all.
I will never walk into a Dick's again as long as I live because of this ridiculous response. I have bought several guns, boxes of ammo, and other accessories over the years at my local Dick's. Losing my business won't put them out of business; but if enough of us respond we can destroy them. I would love to see the Dick's company starve to death and die because of this. I hope they never sell another gun to anyone, period.
The republic was not founded by cowards, and cowards will not preserve it.
