Rebel, is that a Diet Dr Pepper in your hand as you're standing beside the sign?

No, it's not a Diet Dr Pepper. It's a can of Coors light Beer. My son, and I were taking a midweek break and driving around on logging roads, and some obscure county roads in Vilas County in northern Wis. That is a creek called "Partridge Creek" it , flows in to Nixon Lake, mentioned in the sign. I love it up there.

This pic is the Manitowish River, it flows into the Wisconsin river, which flows in to the Mississippi River, eventually. These are the rivers that the Native Americans, and early fur traders, travelled on, in the 17 and 1800s.

Hey.. speaking of "up there".

When do you guys see the Wood Cock passing through?? We're thinking of making a trip up during the migration depending on when I head out to chase elk. Would like to combine wood cock & grouse IF possible.

I do love Wisconsin. We had a great week in the Gordon area two years ago....and up around Rhinelander a few years ago.
Great country up there. We enjoyed it immensely.

Grouse season is usually last half of September, thru the first week in January.
Woodcock is about the same.
I dont know when they pass thru. You should be able to do both at the same time. Check the WisDNR, for date , and licenses.

I never thought it was Diet Dr Pepper, I figured it had hops in it! By the way that's my wife's favorite beer.
