lets see those rimfires

Since this is Rifle Country, I'll stick to the rifles:

A 1949 Christmas present to me. A Remington 514 single shot. Thousands of rounds through it without a hitch. I had it professionally bead blasted and re-blued a few years ago. I refinished the stock. Ridiculously accurate.Gorgeous walnut stock View attachment 1137202
Those 500 series Remingtons are great rifles. One of my lifelong regrets is letting a 512X get away from me. I blame it on callow youth.

These are my two current rimfire rifles. Not fancy but they keep me happy. This .22LR is from 1985.

And if memory serves, this .22 WMR is from 1987. It's my all around favorite rifle. A joy to carry and shoot. It's done it's duty enough that it's trusted 100%.

Some very nice looking rimfires in this thread!

This is an old picture of my maple stocked Browning T-Bolt. It currently wears a Leupold VX-2 3-9x33mm AO scope instead of the little fixed 4x28mm scope in this set-up. I should really get a better image of it in a few weeks.

And since the short guns are making it into this thread as well, how about a S&W Model 18 to round things out.

This is my favorite do anything rimfire, nearly as accurate from the bench as my Ruger Precision Rimfire yet light enough to shoot offhand. The Tacsol Aeris suppressor was actually purchased for something else but has about found permanent residents on this Savage (it's pretty loud on a pistol but with std vel from a rifle it's nearly as quiet as my Silencerco Spectre) the Bushnell Engage 3-12X has parallax adjustment down to 10 yards. 20220919_072658.jpg

....... I'm enjoying this thread so much that I forgot it's in the "Rifle Country" section. Whatever section it's in, I like it even with handguns appearing. In keeping with the rifles here's a Ruger 10/22; unmodified except for a 2-7x BSA rimfire scope. Just a general plinking & small game gun that serves well in that role. IMG_1866.JPG

The Springfield M-2 gets my vote as the all-time All-American Rimfire rifle. It was it born in the cradle of American armament and served as the primary teacher of marksmanship to millions of Americans. It served three generations of marksmanship trainees not only in the military, but also in high schools, colleges, sporting clubs, summer camps, ROTC teams, National Guard and US Reserve training camps. The mind boggles to consider how many thousands of rounds of ammo each of these training rifles consumed, and kept on shooting. Accurately

EDIT TO ADD: Oops, I hadn't realized this was in the Rifle Country forum. Pardon the handguns. I'll delete them if the mods want me to.
