Let's see your short barrels 3" or less.

I posted a pic of my 2-3/4" Security Six with the T-grip earlier in the thread, and I posted some pics of the Python in another thread last week when I first bought it. But since its a snub under 3", I thought I'd post some pics here of the recently acquired unfired 40 year old 2-1/2" Colt Python. Its now the jewel of my revolver collection, relegating the Security Six to the number #2 spot.

I hate to say that any firearm is "too pretty to shoot" -- but that Python is so beautiful, I'd wince every time I touched off a round! o_O

I’m not much of a handgun person, I gravitate towards long guns and hunting. That being said I have a thing for Colt Snubbies, but only if they have a shrouded ejector rod. I’ve got a Cobra and a Detective Special, both made in the mid 70’s.

I also have a thing for .380’s that are the same size or maybe a bit larger than many compact 9MM Lugers. I just like to look at them. For actual SD and HD I have full size and compact 9’s.

My holy grail handgun is a 99% Colt Diamondback.

The only 3"er I ever owned was this S&W model 60 I bought for my mom many years ago, and that I got back when arthritis kept her from shooting it any longer. It's the .38SPC only version, which is fine, because I wouldn't want to fire this pistol with .357's, that's for sure. This was also one of the most accurate pistols I've ever owned, when kept within it's range... 4grn Unique under a Hornady swaged 158grn wadcutter would give you one ragged hole at 25'. It finally went to a forum friend... to his wife, actually, who wanted it for the same purpose as my mom... so it has a good home.

I had a 3" Chief, Model 36, thought it was a great carry gun.

Adjustable sights, like on your gun, would have been the icing on the cake.

In all honesty I do not enjoy shooting short barreled revolvers and have rarely carried a revolver in the last two decades anymore. I occasionally have the Bodyguard in my pocket when I am checking the mailbox.

The Raymond Sassia special is kept as a collectible

and the old S&W M19 was bought for under $200 a long time ago

S&W 60-4
Originally came with Uncle Mike's rubber grips which worked well, but the round to square butt style feels best to me.

I got a sneak peak at my 4" model 10-8 that the gunsmith is chopping to 3" and slab siding the barrel. It should be finished in the next week or two. It's going to be great! My 3" barrel swap should be done on my model 64-5 and bead blasted about the same time.
Woohoo!!!

S&W 296 44 spl. Was new in box, Replaced the Ti cylinder with a Stainless Steel and had bead blasted with a action job by a well known Gun smith.
With the slightly heavier cylinder I can now safely shoot Heavier Projectiles along with the slight increase in recoil absorption.

Some Warm 240s or Buffalo bore Hp 190s should do 808A445E-234D-48A9-98F8-703EE4BA71E2.jpeg 7752D5E2-7CE9-467D-9E43-B4F234EBF7FD.jpeg
