lever action accessory?

I remember seeing a lever action rifle a while back that had a small leather laced up sleave on the bottomedge of the lever to cushion you nuckles as you shucked the action. At the time, I didn't have a lever gun and thought I never would, so I didn't think much about it. Now I do, and after todays rnage outing the back of my rights hand is swollen and sore. Has anyone seen this accessorie? Where can I find one and what is it called?

Can't help you with name, but from your description it sounds really easy to make with just an awl or even a knife. Anywhere nearby you can pick up some leather?

I've also seen CAS shooters just wrap the bottom of the lever with a leather bootlace. Worked fine.

The closest thing I can find is a leather lace-up cover for a motorcycle brake/clutch lever....could be made to work.

I use a leather bootlace though a few of the CAS guys are selling some.

Keep your middle finger outside the lever when you shoot and work the lever.

My problem is getting my big mitt in the standard lever loop.

I've found larger loops for the Marlin and Winchester but I can't seem to find one for the Henry.

i used some used mousepad material and black duct tape. it's more cushy that way.
