Ha! Looks like someone should have zeroed the scope before they left for their hunt.

I once had a clerk at a gun store say that he would have people come in to have their rifles boresighted before a hunt. He would always advise them to take it to the range for a proper zero before they left and several said that their was no point. I'm guessing this guy was one of them.

Mav, I've never heard anyone use "capacitance" in the context of heat retention. Interesting.
Just a fancy word for capacity, in this case heat energy, same goes for the capacity to hold electrical energy (the form that most folks are familiar with).

:)

I use capacitance frequently, but in reference to electrical charge, just never heard it used with other forms of work.

Me too; I use it every time I turn on my 'puter. :p

As a CE specializing in materials and forensics I use heat capacitance more than electrical, but as a former electrician, owner of a air compressor business (large electrical motors), and from years of fiddling with computers & electrical micro-circuitry I am familiar with both forms.

I ordered a 26" .875 helical fluted barrel for my rem700 7mm mag. The extra barrel diameter doesn't do much for kick over my .550 barrel that I have now. I like to do shoots and its a 5 min max with 25 tagets to shoot at. My barrel now will burn to the touch afterwords. Almost can't wait to get the new barrel
