Lighter weight scope mount?

I have been using the Burris PEPR mount on my picatinny upper rail. This is a really nice scope mount and I could probably beat a deer to death with it without damaging the mount, but it is heavy. As I think about a lighter weight setup, what would you recommend? Probably looking at a 3X9-40 scope or perhaps a little bigger.
