Lightest butt stock for AR 15?

Any thoughts on the butt for an AR 15 that is most light weight? Or is the weight so negligible to the whole that it does not really matter. Price is not am issue.

There are some ultra light ones that are nothing more than a tube and pice for the butt. I think MFT makes one.

If you want a full stock the Ace Skeleton is light weight. I have one and it’s real nice, it’s just not ultra light.

Lightest is a poly lower/buttstock such as a cav 15 and a taccom buffer.

They have as low as 3.9 ounces. But for the cost, if you’re not going lightweight everywhere, I don’t see the point. Magnesium, or skeletonized, receivers. Titanium parts throughout. Then do it. Otherwise the balance will start to get off.

The stock is among the worst parts of the AR to try to save weight. Weight towards the rear makes it balance better & will actually make the gun feel more nimble.

Be cognizant of barrel profile. Too heavy & you've built a pig. Too light & you'll sacrifice some measure of accuracy.

Lightweight bolt carriers can effect reliability.

My favorite weight cutting measures on AR builds are titanium gas blocks (I use V7 ion bonded or Battle Arms ion bonded) , a muzzle device not over 3oz (I like Rainier Arms flash hiders & the CMT CFC), and lightweight, free float handguards.
