Lignose .25 -only fires racked rounds

Just picked this up and it is my first Lignose.

I insert mag, rack it and it fires and ejects fine. I press check (now) and the new round is in the chamber. It won't fire.

I rack out the live round and the next round fires and ejects fine and feeds new round which won't fire.

After ejecting this live round the next one will fire.

It won't fire a magazine fed round even though it is in the chamber. I rack it out through, and the next round will fire.

Any idea what's going on?

No-Fire

The slide isn't going to full battery unless it feeds at full speed. Strip it, give it a thorough cleaning and lightly oil everything and check it again.

IIRC, that Lignose is striker fired and I suspect the slide is not coming back far enough to cock the striker. When the slide is retracted by hand, it is pulled back far enough, explaining why a manually fed round fires. It could be an ammo problem or lack of cleaning/lubrication, or someone replacing the striker spring with one that is too strong.
