So little info about Lil Gun loads out there...
I've been developing a moderate load for .357s using LilGun and 158gr Swaged Lead or Cast bullets.
For years I've used 14gr of H110 with those bullets. I've only found H110 listed once in those years at that level. But it works, I haven't had a squibb yet, and it leads less than "recommended" loads giving less velocity with Unique, Bullseye, HP38, 630, even 2400. And it's more accurate than all of them, consistently shooting 4" groups at 50 yds out of my best sixgun.
For safety's sake I tested H110 down to 7 gr. before it failed to ignite and the bullet stuck in the barrel. But chrono tests show it is pretty irregular (high SD), so I've been looking at LilGun.
Supposedly it is easier to ignite fully and with regular primers at that. But there just isn't enough data.
I've found 13gr of LilGun is a little faster than 14gr of H110, using the same bullet and cases, CCI550 for H110 and both mag and std primer for LilGun. Either primer gives me less SD and pretty much the same level of accuracy.
Anybody have any thoughts or experience along these lines?
