I found this picture of an original Ideal Cylindrical Adjustable Mould that sold for $145. All original except the handle.

Would be easy to make the cutter for a clamshell style mold. I have made a few on the lathe, it's easy to make. I just need to get some aluminum to try them out. Making one for a pp bullet would be even easier.
There's a video on YouTube how to do it I'll see if I can find it.

If you do a Google search for "bullet mould cherry" ("bullet cherry" gets you a South Korean girl group) and then images you get a gazillion of them. Before there was aluminum for moulds - aluminum metal was once more expensive than gold because it is so reactive - moulds for bullet making were made of soapstone and the cherry used to cut the void into which the lead was poured. A cherry and mould were often shipped with a firearm specific to that firearm.

I saw a picture of the the Ideal mould in "The Paper Jacket" and wanted to make an adjustable mould for use with sabots; nobody makes such a mould commercially now.

I get my materials from a local welding shop scrap pile. They are glad to sell it and I pay a lot less than buying new on Ebay.
