Well this is a surprise. It's going to be available in both .38 special and .22 h&r magnum. Looks like I might have to hunt one down, cause .32 h&r is a fantastic caliber for this size firearm.

S&W always last to the party when it comes to the new thing for revolvers, but better late than never.

No, I won't be buying one because I don't run to Smith for all my revolver wants and needs. I am glad those who have been hesitant to jump on the .32 bandwagon finally have their opportunity to tho.

Could be that small revolver sales are increasing and who wants to miss that wave. Kimber has a really nice 38 special, the K6XS, that is getting a lot of attention. I have plenty of pocket size revolver options but asked my local FFL to put me down for the first one(s) he gets.

Past discussions were how J frames (and similar) were pushed for women but not a good choice given recoil and harder to shoot. It might be that the 32 guns with a wide range of ammo power choices and a new decent sight could make these as a reasonable choice. The size was always attractive to some. Being easier to shoot with 6 rounds, not a bad choice.

Yep. Which is why my wife has an LCRx in .327, but only shoots .32 long and .32 magnum.

Since we're on a 32 revolver thread, what's the options for a speed loader? Not speed strip, but a speed loader.

I just hope that these new Smith and Wessons centennial revolvers do not have the built-in lock.

HKS 32-J for 6-shots. I have a pair for my CA Undercoverette .32 and they work in my wife's LCRx .327. They are actually made for S&Ws.

I have one of the older S&W model 431PD guns in my nightstand right now. Fully loaded it weighs 15oz and is an easy pocket carry. I bought this gun over 20 years ago. My local gun dealer got it in in like new condition box and paperwork and gave me a call because he knew I liked 32 caliber guns. So I took cash and went over to look. He wanted a rather fluffy $329+ tax for the gun. I went ahead and bought the gun and have never once regretted buying it. I love to shoot it. Even with my full power loads its pleasant to shoot.

The 431PD has the exposed hammer that can be cocked to fire. If you see one on GB for sale they are always priced and sold for well over a $1000. So my investment paid off. But its not for sale. Ammo cost me practically nothing. I have had the bullets and brass for years and have two bullet molds. I also have two Ruger Single Six revolvers with adj sights and 5.5" barrels. Great trail guns and surprisingly accurate. Like 100 yard accurate. On a good day I can pretty much hit a one pound coffee can nearly every shot off hand.

I like to see renewed interest in anything 32 caliber. I also have 5 32 long revolvers from S&W. I will buy any I find if the price is reasonable. But prices haven't been reasonable in a long time.
