I did a search, but not being the most computer savy guy around, I was unable to answer my Q.
What would the bullet drop for a standard 40 gr 22 LR bullet be out of say, a Ruger 10/22 be at 400 yards?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Folks. I don't recall ever shooting my 10/22 at over a 150 yards or so and it dropped a lot then. I'm debating a guy who claims to shoot rabbits with some regularity at 400 yards with an iron-sighted 10/22...

I'm guessing that his rear sight is as tall as some of his tales.

ps
I can't even *see* a rabbit at 400 yards.

rabits at 400 yards????

Rabbits at 400YARDS!!!! I would pay money to see this! Heck, I can't even SEE rabbits at 400 yards.

Biker using the Speer ballistic tables for high powered cartridges with a ballistic coefficient of .14, muzzle velocity of 1500 fps(lowest m/v listed),sighted in at 200 yrds.your talkin 87 in.drop.Time in flight 0.8528 secs.So with a high powered thats 7 foot of drop, almost a full sec. in flight and more energy at 400 yrds. than the 22lr gets at the muzzle ,60 some ft. lbs.Don't argue you might want to stay on this guys good side.:D
